Walmart Neighborhood Markets offer a quick and convenient shopping experience for customers who need groceries, pharmaceuticals, and general merchandise all at our famous Every Day Low Prices.
First opened in 1998, there are now 185 Walmart Neighborhood Markets, each employing about 95 associates. A typical store is about 42,000 square feet. Walmart Neighborhood Markets feature a wide variety of products, including fresh produce, meat and dairy products, dry goods, deli foods, bakery items, pet supplies, health and beauty aids, condiments and spices, household supplies. The stores also feature a pharmacy and a one-hour photo center.
On September 21st, Chicago opened its first Walmart Neighborhood Market in the West Loop neighborhood. The new store is part of our goal to open multi-format stores that reflect individual neighborhoods and address local customer needs in a variety of locations.
